Today I was glowing after such a happy co-incidence.
I went on a little bike ride with my friend Rodrigo, who’s home we are staying in here in here in D.F (not the same Rodrigo that we had met in the Sierra Gorda). We went to a bike shop to sort some stuff out, and then he took me to a cafe/shop/bed and breakfast called La Procedencia this place stocks lots of amazing Mexican food products all of which are sourced from growers and small companies.
La Procedencia stocks coffee from cooperatives in Oaxaca and Chiapas, and if you arrive to the shop by bike you get a free espresso. Rodrigo introduced me to one of the owners and told them about my trip. She asked if we had come via Tula, which we had. It turned out that her father-in-law is Enrique a warm showers host we had planned to stay with in Tula (we had arrived in Tula a day late and therefore we hadn’t met Enrique, but he kindly set us up with his friend Cesar, who was an amazing host). Enrique was actually in D.F, and 5 minutes later he was in the cafe too! It was lovely to meet him and also to chat to his son and daughter-in-law. Their cafe/shop/bed and breakfast is a a lovely place to be, with a great ethos!
